Who's Garett?

Garett Christopher Hall is a four year old little boy who was diagnosed with a brain stem tumor on May 15, 2010. The name of this tumour is Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma. It is the deadliest tumor you can possibly be diagnosed with. The doctors have said it is inoperable and he doesn't have long to live. He received 6 weeks of radiation and that is all the treatment he can receive.

UPDATE - April 19, 2011 - Garett had his quarterly MRI on the 12th, and, as in the past, they sedated him, but afterwards he had a hard time staying awake and this morning he was really ill and tired so Melissa (his mom) took him back to the doctor and due to his condition they went ahead and read his MRI. In doing so they found that his tumor had grown and that the cancer had spread to the lining of his brain, was also in the fluid of his brain, and they are sure it is also in his spinal fluid. Based on the growth and fact that it has now spread so far they are only giving him another 6 to 8 weeks.

We really appeciate everything that all of you have done, the love and kindness that you have shown Garett over these past 11 months. I just wanted to say how much it has meant and how much it has helped us and most importantly, how happy it has made Garett. This next part is really going to be hard and knowing that you are there is really going to be important. We love you all and thank you so very much for all of your prayers and well wishes.
